Third Sunday after Pentecost, June 9, 2013

Memory helps re-member us into communities. Family and class reunions often happen in summertime, and old memories that were part of our development come back as people share stories and memories. Sunday morning is reunion time for the Christian community. We remember the central things of our faith and are re-membered with the hosts of heaven and the church on earth. The lectionary provides the worshiping community with the stories that brought it into being and have nourished it toward today and a new future. Join us for worship on Sunday with Holy Communion at St. Peter’s at 9:00am and at Messiah at 10:30am. Sunday School classes meet at Messiah at 9:30am, and at St. Peter’s at 10:15am. Prayer of the Day: Compassionate God, you have assured the human family of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Deliver us from the death of sin, and raise us to new life in your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
