Second Sunday in Lent
Bulletin for Messiah: 2015-03-01-M
Bulletin for St. Peter’s: 2015-03-01-SP
As we have begun the Lenten season, our Bishop Mike Rhyne thought it would be a good idea to intentionally pray for our congregations and our Synod during the seasons of Lent and Easter.
The prayers can be as simple as asking God to remember our church and synod, or we may want to pray for specific challenges and/or opportunities that face us as we move forward as God’s people.
As we begin our 40 days of intentional prayer, fasting and almsgiving, please consider the discipline of prayer for others, starting with those within our Synod.
No worship service or Sunday school this Sunday, February 15th but:
February 17th, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, 6:00pm at St.Peter’s
February 18th, Ash Wednesday communion service, 7:30pm at Messiah.
…Wind chill warning in effect from midnight tonight to 10 am
EST Monday… …Worship is cancelled tomorrow for both Messiah and St. Peter’s… …Stay warm!… …Ash Wednesday service this week on February 18th, 7:30pm at Messiah… …Prayer of the Day: Almighty God, the resplendent light of your truth shines from the mountaintop into our hearts. Transfigure us by your beloved Son, and illumine the world with your image, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Dear Member of St.Clairsville Lutheran Parish, On Sunday, February 8th, families of our congregation participated in the “Framing Faith for the Future” Capital Campaign raising more than $3,000 to help complete funding for much needed upgrades and improvements to Camp Sequanota. Gifts averaged $125 per family! Thank you to all who have already participated. We have certainly heard the story and know that the upgrades and improvements at Sequanota will help them be a better resource for meaningful ministry. It will enable them to touch thousands of lives each year.
If you haven’t already, please join all the families who made commitments on Sunday so that our response to this important effort will reflect the best effort of our congregation. Together, we can make a significant difference and touch many lives with the good news of Jesus Christ. If you need a commitment form please ask Pastor Donna.
